Our Spring Meeting is in Tewkesbury, home of the writer John Moore (1907–1967). This is a new venue for our Society, with what promises to be a most interesting weekend. We look forward to welcoming members there.

9.00 p.m. 'A portrait of John Moore: his life and his books'' – an illustrated talk by Kirstie Bingham, Heritage Manager of the John Moore Museum

 

Saturday, 17 May

 

8.00 a.m. on Breakfast in the main dining room
10.15 a.m.

Visit to the John Moore Museum

     Introductory talk

     Tour of the Museum and Merchant's House

     Free time in the Museum and its garden

12.30 p.m. Lunch at the Abbey Tea Rooms
2.00-3.30 p.m.

Guided walking tour of Tewkesbury

     Led by local expert Steve Goodchild

6.00 p.m. on Gather in hotel bar
7.00 p.m. Dinner
9.00 p.m.

Sunday, 18 May

Optional walk down the Severn to Odda's Chapel (weather permitting)
