Second-hand books
We offer a large selection of books by and about Henry Williamson and some related titles, including books by Richard Jefferies.
You may buy them securely online, using either PayPal or your credit/debit card (via PayPal's website). You do NOT need a PayPal account.
OVERSEAS ORDERS: please do NOT place an order, but instead email the webmaster (webmaster@henrywilliamson.co.uk) listing the books you require. The books will then be reserved and a quotation including carriage costs will be emailed to you for payment via PayPal.
We do not specialise in first editions and collectors items (though they may appear), but our intention is to offer 'reading' copies at affordable prices. Further titles are added as they become available.
The descriptions of condition are given in good faith, but are fairly basic; we are not professional second-hand booksellers! If a book is found to be not as described it may be returned within 7 days of receipt for a full refund. Please let us know by email (books@henrywilliamson.co.uk) prior to dispatch if you decide to return a book.
Under 'Product details' for individual books we have generally used the original publishers' blurbs for either the first or other editions, as these are interesting in themselves. For anyone wishing to delve a little deeper, we have added, when appropriate, a link to Anne Williamson's consideration of the book, together with the background to its writing, in her series 'A Life's Work'.
Note that all books are by Henry Williamson, unless otherwise stated.
The default order of display is alphabetical by title, although you can choose other views by using the drop-down button. If you are looking for a particular title, it may be helpful to use the search box.
Further second-hand titles are added as they become available.
PLEASE NOTE that we do not buy books, but instead rely on donations for our second-hand stock; all profits are ploughed back into the Society and in maintaining its website. If you have any spare copies of books by Henry Williamson, Richard Jefferies or other related authors/material, please first get in touch with the webmaster (webmaster@henrywilliamson.co.uk).We are particularly looking for the following titles, in any edition in good condition: Young Phillip Maddison, A Fox Under My Cloak, A Test to Destruction, The Innocent Moon, Devon Holiday, Genius of Friendship, On Foot in Devon, The Peregrine's Saga, Salar the Salmon, Scribbling Lark, The Story of a Norfolk Farm, Tales of a Devon Village, The Wet Flanders Plain, and The Wild Red Deer of Exmoor.
