The Henry Williamson Society
Battlefield Tour 2010
Friday, 16 April to Monday 19 April
A brochure with full details of the tour will be available nearer the time, but the basic plan is that on Saturday, 17 April we shall visit places and memorials in the Ypres Salient, including Zonnebeke, Passchendaele and 'Plugstreet' (Ploegsteert). In the evening we shall attend the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate.
On Sunday, 18 April we shall drive south to visit the Arras tunnels and then go on to the Canadian Memorial on Vimy Ridge. We shall also include a visit to the grave of the poet Isaac Rosenberg.
Our tour guide once again will be the highly experienced Paul Reed, historian and acknowledged expert on the First World War.
Monday morning is free, to spend time in Ypres before departing for home.
The cost per person, which includes a feeder coach to Dover, 3 nights bed and breakfast at the Ypres Novotel, is £279.00 (based on two sharing a twin room; there is a single room supplement of £99.00).
The tour is now fully subscribed.
