The publisher's blurb to this edition is headed 'Richard Jefferies, Selections by Henry Williamson', and states: 'This book is a short condensed biography and critical appraisal by a fellow author, who since boyhood has been devoted to the personality of Jefferies as revealed in his writings. Selections from these writings make the bulk of the book: they range from youthful romances and letters to the essays collected and published by the widowed Mrs. Jefferies.
