We offer books by and about Henry Williamson and some related titles, including books by Richard Jefferies. (Find books by and about Jefferies by entering 'jefferies' in the search box in the left menu column.)

 

We will not be specialising in first editions and collectors items (though they may appear), but instead offer 'reading' copies at affordable prices. Further titles will be added as they become available.

 

The descriptions of condition are given in good faith, but are fairly basic; we are not professional second-hand booksellers! If a book is found to be not as described it may be returned within 7 days of receipt for a full refund. Please let us know by email (books@henrywilliamson.co.uk) prior to dispatch if you decide to return a book.

 

Under 'Product details' for individual books we have generally used the original publishers' blurbs for either the first or other editions, as these are interesting in themselves; while for anyone wishing to delve a little deeper, we have added, when appropriate, a link to Anne Williamson's consideration of the book, together with the background to its writing, in her series 'A Life's Work'.

Book condition: from the Exmoor Society Library, with a neat plate stating 'Review Copy 1969'; with a small library label on spine of dust wrapper, a library number on the inside front cover and an owner's bookplate on the front fly leaf. The dust wrapper is in a protective plastic sleeve which unfortunately has been taped down on the inside back cover. Despite being an ex-library copy, the book is in very nice condition.

This copy is a bibliographical curiosity, in that it is bound in Cape's 'Life and Letters' series cover, but has the half title and title-page of the first edition; while the endpaper maps that were used in both editions are not present. The 'Life and Letters' series edition was issued in 1934.

Book condition: covers a little faded in parts, but otherwise a nice copy; lacking the dust wrapper.
