SPRING MEETING
The
Spring Meeting will be held in
Folkestone
on
the weekend 9th to 11th May
An
exciting programme is being arranged that will include visits to
The
Grand Hotel (ballroom more or less original)
Caesar’s
Camp (view out to sea fantastic)
Shorncliffe
Barracks
Site
of No 3 Rest camp
And
other places researched and placed in situ
as
well as revealing further characters
(especially
the real life ‘Naps’ Spreycombe)
and
with readings from
The Dream of Fair Women
The meeting will be led by Dr Mike Maloney and Anne Williamson
who
are hard at work on this project.
Put
yourselves in the mood and mode of Folkestone in 1919
when
Henry Williamson was in love with the delicious ‘Eve Fairfax’
and
found The Story of my Heart in a
bookshop
(and
yes we know where that bookshop was)
