Schools Writing Competition 2010


The Henry Williamson Society holds a Schools Writing Competition every two years.


The theme for the 2010 competition is:


'How Dear is Life'


Age group: Years 8 and 9


Closing date: 18 June 2010


Prize Money:

To the school of the winning entrant – £300

To the winner – £100

Two runners-up – £50 each

2010 Competition Rules


1. Prizes:

1st Prize: £100 to pupil, £300 to School.

2 runner-up prizes, £50 each.

 

2. Entries:

Postal entries accepted only. Entries must be typed or hand written in black ink, suitable for photocopying.

 

3. Age Range:

Years 8 and 9. Entries to be clearly marked with pupil’s name, date of birth, and name and address of school.

 

4. Return of entries:

 

Entries can only be returned if accompanied by a S.A.E. and not before 15th October 2010.
5. Winners:

Winners will be notified through their schools in late September 2010 and their entries will be published on the Society's website, http://www.henrywilliamson.co.uk.

 

6. Judging criteria:

Work will be judged on originality, imagination, empathy and style (refer to the competition guidelines).

 

7. Closing date:

18 June 2010
